The Best is Yet to Come...

In 1994, Marleen envisioned a community center in the form of a literal lighthouse that would shine like a beacon of hope to Westerly, Rhode Island, and the surrounding areas. However, several years would pass before Lighthouse ministry would be launched.
In the meantime, on December 5, 1995, International Life Centers was opened as a non-denominational Christian church and in September 1999, Lighthouse Cafe was opened at Dunn’s Corners in Westerly, RI, presenting live music, drama and other activities, until
September 2007.
Today, Lighthouse of International Life Centers is still shining as a vision that continues to be shared through Marleen's speaking ministry and books... and we know that the best is yet to come!
Meet our Founder: Marleen Pagano Nielsen

Marleen developed a strong, biblical, foundation through her experiences as the daughter of a pastoral ministry team: the late, Rev. John & Theresa Pagano. She has served in church leadership and has been a part of singing and keyboard ministries for over 25 years. Her prophetic voice is demonstrated through her speaking, songwriting, and powerful musical anointing.
As an author and speaker Marleen’s teaching style focuses on being a relevant ‘doer’ of God’s Word, which she passionately imparts with tasteful humor. One aspect of her teaching presents an understanding of, Transformation, which occurs by knowing the Word, and, Restoration, which results from operating in our spiritual authority in Christ.
Our Founder’s non-religious approach to ministry is refreshing and focused upon Christ-centered living and healthy relationships.
Marleen holds a BA degree from Rowan University, and has advanced her experience within the secular fields of elementary education, real estate, and loan management. She is also the mother of three adult children, and a step mother to four children
that she co-parents with her husband Erik.

On December 28, 2007, Marleen was joined in marriage to Major Erik Nielsen of Tulsa, OK.
Erik is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in aerospace engineering.
He served eight years of active duty in the Navy as a helicopter pilot and fixed wing flight instructor. Currently, Erik is a senior engineer at American Airlines and a Major in the Army National Guard serving as a staff officer and helicopter pilot. Deployed to Iraq in 2005, Major Nielsen experienced the faithfulness of God on a whole new level as Chief of the airspace at the Coalition Headquarters, coordinating aircraft movement and weapons delivery while stationed in Baghdad.
Now joining their talents and experience together as One in Christ, Marleen and Erik are pressing toward the mark of their high calling as they lead International Life Centers into the future.
